Reviews for RM Lontong Orari
Review highlights
Based on 3,774 reviewsRM Lontong Orari is widely praised for its authentic Indonesian lontong dishes, particularly the tender rice cakes paired with flavorful options such as chicken, haruan fish, and spicy jackfruit curry. Customers appreciate the generous portions and the rich, coconut milk-based flavors that make the meals stand out. The restaurant offers a traditional dining experience with lesehan-style seating, which some find charming while others mention it may not suit everyone. Service feedback is mixed, with some noting friendly staff but occasional inattentiveness. Prices are considered slightly higher than typical street food stalls, yet many view the quality and unique offerings as worth the cost. Overall, RM Lontong Orari is regarded as a must-visit spot for those seeking local culinary specialties in Banjarmasin.
By far is the best lontong/rice cake meal I've ever tried in my culinary experience. The lontong itself was tender and blend perfectly with the Haruan fish or chicken along with Lodeh - curry soup made of jackfruit with coconut milk, which was the part of the whole set, will make your culinary journey in Banjarmasin complete.
Taste great & generous portion. The photo shows HALF portion of Lontong Komplit (fish, chicken & egg). Definitely recommended if u visit Banjarmasin. But u must sit on the floor if u want to dine here (lesehan).
A very unique and tasty local food of Banjarmasin. It is very rich in coconut milk, some people might not find it healthy. But it does taste really good. I took away one star just because it wasn’t a good dining in experience for me. I came to the counter to order my food, but nobody seemed to be willing to take my order despite some staff was visibly joking in the nearby kitchen.
A place where long range radio enthusiasts get together. Offering nasi kuning and the famous lontong (rice cake). Lontong served with 3 options: chicken, haruan (snake head / gabus) and egg. And if you just order one portion, they will serve you double lontong: BIG portion! Theredore, order "separuh" or half, and you will get 1 lontong portion. very nice and highly recommended. Affordable and will make you full for real (double lontong).
This traditional restaurant serves Lontong Sayur (Rice Cake with young jackfruit curry) and Nasi Kuning (Yellow Fragrant Rice) as main dishes. Most of the dishes are spicy. As condiments, there are Spicy Chicken Red Curry, Spicy Fish Red Curry. The prices are bit higher than similar food stall. But, considering the place, I would say this place is okay. It's recommended as a must-try when visiting Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (South Borneo).
